Nice March weather with sleet, cold and rain encouraged me to release a
new version of motor, a console IDE for UNIX.
Changes I planned for this release were done quite a long ago, but it
couldn't be done earlier because of "bairams" I was regulary invited to
every evening during the last week. "Bairam" in another Romanian word
for party, with obvious Turkish origin. But this Saturday at last was a
day without any plans. Just a free day. Finally.
Several days ago I made another discovery. Obviously, in the land of
wine makers wine shouldn't cost a lot. I knew that before and a price of
1.5-2$ for a bottle was ok for me. But it appeared to be not the final
limit when we entered into a supermarket here with a colleague. He was
going to go home and wanted to pick something brand Romanian to bring as
a gift. So we stopped at shelves with wines. It looked beatiful. A lot
of sorts, brands, years of distillation, etc.. There was quite a choice.
But suddenly my attention was attracted by one liter bottles, covered
with metal corks like beer. Half-dry wine, price - 5.400 lei. About
0.15$ converted into American roubles. Probably something similar to our
"Gold autumn" made of tomatoes remained from the last year. In several
days we were in the same shop with several Romanian and French friends,
and they didn't believe me. So we went inside to check the price.
Unfortunatelly, we didn't make a bet that there is a wine that can cost
less than mineral water.
