26 Mar 2002 :: Nice March weather with sleet, cold and rain encouraged me to release a new version of motor, a console IDE for UNIX. Changes I planned for this release were done quite a long ago, but it couldn't be done earlier because of "bairams" I was regulary invited to every evening during the last week... [ more.. ]

24 Mar 2003 :: It was half a year since the last visit home, during which I lost familiarty with some things. In Chernovtsy inscriptions in the streets (already with Cyrillic letters, but not yet in Russian) brought nostalgy... [ more.. ]

28 Nov 2002 :: I bet a lot of you know or at least guessed that begging is quite a profitable business. Once I heard that in Kharkov a small gipsy begging on a market or in the subway "earns" about $300/mo which was my approximate salary there working as a programmer... [ more.. ]

And one more things about holidays, celebrations and having a good time. On the 1st December there was Ziua nationala a Romaniei. It's translated as "the national day of Romania". Maybe, I was looking not very attentively, but during a morning trip through the center of the city I couldn't notice any major celebrations. The only amusement was a loudspeaker standing on one of the main squares of Iasi. There were some melodies coming out from it. And TV was showing a parade in Bucharest that day.
